KPHA’s new Advocate and Champion Certificate program is a great line for your CV and comes with a fancy certificate, but more importantly, it is acknowledgment of your contributions to a healthier community.
Earn points toward your “Advocate” designation by:
- Contacting your legislator
- Attending KPHA’s Conference
- Serve on KPHA Task Force
- Attending “Take 20” webinars
- Volunteering in your community
- Hold a Town Hall meeting
- Share KPHA socials
- Present a public health poster
KPHA Point System
Advocate Level = 50 points
Champion Level = 75 points
KPHA Membership – 5 pts per year
Serve on KPHA Board (2-year term) – 25 pts per term
Serve as a KPHA Officer – 25 pts per term
Serve on a KPHA Committee – 15 pts per year
Email your Senator or Representative – 5 pts
Call your Senator or Representative – 5 pts
Contact your local/civic government leader to support a public health topic – 5 pts
Send pro-public health written testimony – 10pts
Meet with your Senator or Representative – 10 pts
Attend a Committee Meeting or Hearing – 20 pts (presenting 25 pts)
Participation in a public health-related advocacy day in Topeka – 20 pts
Participation in a public health-related local advocacy activity – 15 pts
“Voter-to-Voter” network Ambassador – 15 pts
Attend a KPHA “Take 20” or other virtual meeting/seminar – 5 pts
Present a KPHA “Take 20” or other virtual meeting – 25 pts
Attend a KPHA Conference – 20 pts*
Submit a virtual poster – 10 pts
Poster selection for presentation – 15 pts
Presentation at a KPHA Conference – 20 pts
